Between Cranzahl and the spa town of Oberwiesenthal, the steam trains of the Fichtelbergbahn puff along several times a day. If you would like to be active yourself, you can cover the entire route or just part of it on the "Bimmelbahn adventure trail", which runs largely parallel.
Tired hikers' legs rest again in the Dampfbähnl and can use the Fichtelbergbahn to continue their journey. A break in the journey is possible. While the railway covers a total distance of 17.4 km, you as a hiker walk about 20 km. The trail is accessible in the snow-free season from around mid-April to the beginning of November.
