The circular trail (counterclockwise) leads to mining history sights of Oelsnitz, the former state horticultural show area with graduation house and the Haldenlandschaft recreation area with observation tower.Marking: white/green signposts (green hiker with staff), 18 grey/green information pillars.

Start at the Mining Museum. Information pillar no. 1 of this tour is located to the right of the entrance. Then follow the white/green hiking signs "Grüner Wanderer mit Stab" (Green hiker with staff). Along the way, a total of 18 such steles point out mining, historical and natural features of our tour. As the mining trail runs directly along the 2015 State Garden Show grounds, it is a good idea to visit the current re-use as a citizens' and family park. In the second part of the circular trail, there are 3 places where you can shorten the tour individually. This also makes it possible to skip the crossing of the slag heap due to weather conditions or lack of accessibility. Otherwise, the circular route leads over well-surfaced ground and is also suitable for prams.

Note: During the tour, we repeatedly encounter the "Steinkohlenweg" (Coal Trail), which is also signposted and leads through the former mining district in a larger loop via Hohndorf, Gersdorf, Lugau and back to Oelsnitz.
